OUR STORY

More than a century on the same trail

Lumber camp, Scout camp, festival ground, offsite favorite. Every chapter left something behind, and we look after all of it.

EARLY 1900sAlbion Lumber Company camp. After the 1906 earthquake, redwood rebuilt San Francisco. The railroad "Y" is still faintly visible.
1930s TO 40sCivilian Conservation Corps camp, then an army camp in World War II.
1956Camp Masonite Navarro, the Scouts' "crown jewel" for over sixty years.
2012 TO 13Opened to the public for the first time. Camp Grounded starts the digital detox movement here.
TODAYOffsites, festivals, schools and gatherings, one group at a time.

STEWARDSHIP

We invite people into nature and take care of what they find

In 2013 we worked with the Mendocino Redwood Company, the California Conservation Corps, Fish and Wildlife and others to restore about half a mile of Neefus Creek for coho salmon and steelhead, all the way to the Navarro River.

"In the end we will conserve only what we love."

COMMUNITY AND PARTNERS

Kids still come to camp, and we want to keep it that way

Youth and family groups still come to camp every year. We work alongside local and state partners on the land and the river.
