“We had a great time last year! I’m still waiting for approval to do the trip again this year (it was my highest rated trip of 2014!). ”
— Quinn, Event Manager for LinkedIn
Great place, went for a work event but would come back with a big group.
Unbelievably beautiful place with great healing energy! Need an escape from the Silicone Valley grind, here is a good spot.
Our stay was wonderful! Everyone LOVED the place and I suspect some may be back with their own larger group. I hope to return someday! Such beautiful country!
Skip was very gracious and helpful. He has such a nice demeanor and positive approach. You guys have a great site manager.
Thanks so much for letting us sneak in! :)
Just back from a terrific weekend at Camp Navarro. The grounds are truly beautiful and the lodge and cabins are rustic and classic. The place feels like it is right out of a movie!
One of the BEST places to relax, rejuvenate, and design incredible memories!
I have been to Camp Navarro on several occasions including mid-range/150+ person private events, during holidays with close family and friends, for festivals and more. Each time, the staff, the programming, and the location would take my breath away.
My favorite memory created at Camp Navarro was when my husband and I took our foster child (at that time) with us. Zarina, at 3 1/2 years old, was in LOVE. Living in San Francisco and being a parent for the first time almost immediately induces some sort of vacation time. We thought this would be the perfect opportunity to get away. With a private party of 10-15 people, we couldn't have found more peace, connection, and beauty than what we found in Camp Navarro. And, we also couldn't stop Zarina from telling everyone around her of her experience in the great outdoors!! Whenever I would ask her, "Can you guess where we are going?", her immediate response was, "CAMPING!!!!!".
Skip and Christopher -Camp Navarro staff members- were such a great team! We created simple programming which included outdoor activities, meal plans, and trips to neighboring wineries/cities and they assisted us, answered our questions, and gave recommendations for everything!
In the evening, we were astonished at the camp's elegance - surrounded by outdoor hanging lights, blue grass music, and friends, we sat at picnic tables and enjoyed a delicious meal - a scene from your favorite romantic-comedy movie, I'm sure! Then, of course, a lovely fire in front of Shannon Lodge for everyone to divulge in tasty s'mores. It was perfect!
I RECOMMEND Camp Navarro to those looking for nature at it's finest, wonderful staff, impeccable programming, and the creation of -unforgettable- memories..
Cheers,
Claudia
I don't typically write reviews. But this time I felt compelled to do so after reading a negative review of this wonderful place. Clearly someone visited the wrong camp to suggest anything short of wonderful. Our stay here exceeded expectations and was nothing but positive from the moment we unpacked our car.
Camp Navarro and the experience me, my family and friends had while visiting early in the summer, is one which we will cherish for a long time. I visited Camp Navarro over a holiday weekend with my wife, two children (11) and (9) along with several other families. It was the perfect mix of rustic, luxury and adventure. Less than 2 hours from our home in Marin, made it a reasonable get away for the weekend and worth every penny. Which isn't much really. It camping.....there's nowhere to spend money.
We couldn't be more satisfied with the entire operation. From the gracious greeting from camp owners and hosts, to the absolutely amazing landscape and beauty of the surrounding area. Its an ideal setting for anyone with children, or without. There's peaceful Redwood groves to camp in, along with group sites (which we had) that offers a enjoyable and spacious area to surround yourself with others. All without being on top of one another. The activities and things to do OR not do, are off the charts...for even the most adventurous and discerning of travelers. We so happen to be a family with kids who need frequent and constant activities. This was the perfect place for us. Situated on a spacious property (consisting of Emerald green lawn, Redwood groves, Creeks, Zip Lines, Climbing Wall and open trails to roam) the entire group was satisfied beyond expectation. We always felt safe letting our children run, ride, hike and adventure on their own..... which allowed for much needed relaxation for the adults to enjoy on their own, or simply relax in one of the plethora of hammocks and sky chairs hanging under the Redwood Grove.
Group dinners with family and friends gathering at the large picnic table next to the incredibly large fire pit, was not something I expected, and came to enjoy and look forward to every evening.
I couldn't think of better place to enjoy a get away as a family, a couple or simply on your own. You owe it to yourself to take the drive...and visit. Take it from me, who never comments or Yelps or writes reviews.
This is one not to miss. We will be back to continue the memories of Camp Navarro.
What an incredible place! I recently visited Camp Navarro with my family for the second time. It is truly magical. It's the type of spot that you wish existed...and it does! Everything about this place is special. It feels a million miles away in all the best ways.
As a mom of three young girls, I especially appreciate that Camp Navarro offers the perfect balance of freedom for my kids and peace and quiet for the adults, and all in a safe, natural, and beautiful environment.
Don't make the mistake of bringing along too much "stuff." Part of the fun at Camp Navarro is exploring and finding your adventure. From rock climbing to a long run around the grounds to ping pong to reading book in the hammock -- do yourself a favor and go experience this place. It is just breathtaking. We went with a few other families and had just an amazing long weekend.
I can't imagine the staff being any more helpful or welcoming. They were fantastic from start to finish. The grounds are immaculate and perfect for an event, party or wedding.
We will absolutely be back to Camp Navarro and intend to make this a family tradition year after year.
Thank you for an unforgettable vacation, Camp Navarro!
One word... awesome! However, that may be because of the killer program called, "The Journey." I participated in.
It is really hard for me to write this review because....I want to keep this amazing place a secret and all to myself!
Camp Navarro is pure magic.
We just spent the most amazing three days camping at the property.
The setting is beautiful, the grounds are immaculate and there is an amazing sense of peace and tranquility through out.
Our children were able to roam freely, ride their bikes, make hand made bows and arrows, play on the wonderful green and in the river.
We truly enjoyed the family evening with the Banjo band and s'mores at the fire pit.
Bob, Skip, Chris, Darcy & the rest of the Camp Navarro family were so welcoming and accommodating.
We didn't want to come back home and we can't wait to return!
Best part...no cell phone service...
Thank you Camp Navarro for creating such an intimate and family oriented campground. We are fans for life!
This place is really, really special. My fiance and I came up to check it out as a wedding venue. It's a shame that Alicia didn't have a great exp with the staff because ours was incredible. Chris was great on the phone; and on the property, Skip and Rob and their families went out of their way to took care of us. By the way, if they're reading this - thank you again SO much.
As a wedding venue it would've been EPIC. I imagined a HUGE DIY bbq wedding outside the old lodge (there's an amazing grill), bands playing through the night in the meadow, a no-host bar at the "crafts" table, and games at the old shooting range, archery field, or Huckleberry Hollow - vestiges of the boy scout camp that make the place extra special. And not to mention, a lot of just crazy shenanigans on all those acres and acres of beautiful redwood forest next to the Navarro river.
We'd hand downs have had our wedding here if weren't for the long drive from Oakland, as we have family coming from the East Coast. However, we WILL be back with some friends to camp in the "villages"with open air cabins. It's a great place to spend a weekend, and It'd also be a great base to explore the rest of Anderson Valley and Mendocino.
Camp Navarro is an amazing place, perfect for a weekend getaway from the busyness of life. We've visited and stayed at the camp a couple of times and thoroughly enjoyed both visits. The management takes a great care of the grounds and all the facilities. The cleanliness and care of the camp makes the experience so much more enjoyable.
Hands down, the easiest five stars to give.
As a car camping enthusiast, especially in the Redwoods, there is nowhere quite like Camp Navarro. Literally a couple minutes from dozens of exceptional wineries situated throughout the famed Anderson Valley, this is the perfect place to unwind after a day in the vineyards.
With a recent change of stewardship, this historic site is being impeccably cared for by a warm, personable staff. Amenities include numerous private cabins, group camping sites, and a full service lodge equipped with a professional kitchen. Hot showers, oversized fire pits, outdoor movie screens-even an amphitheater-can be found throughout the grounds. Given the property's strategically placed facilities throughout its 83 acres, CV could easily handle a full sized company retreat.
For outdoor enthusiasts, there's private hiking trails through endless towering old growth redwood groves. Also an archery range, canoeing, climbing walls...I'll stop here and leave the rest to be discovered.
This is the ultimate venue for anyone planning a wedding or special event. A best kept secret in Mendocino, and must see to believe it actually exists.
This is a unique place that provides an opportunity to step back into a simpler time. The camp is nestled amongst gorgeous redwoods and speckled throughout with beautiful surprises. My personal favorite is the Nature's Nest created by a nature artist. Our kids were able to explore trails, ride their bikes, play in the swimming holes and enjoy all the fun activities the camp offers.
We chose an Adirondack (3 sided cabin) and woke to lovely sunshine filtering through the redwoods and the sounds of nature. There are new showers and bathrooms which scored points in my book. Camp Navarro is also close to the Mendocino coast and minutes from the Anderson Valley Wineries. We were there only two days and could have easily enjoyed Camp Navarro and the surrounding areas for a week. What a gem!
I attended a festival here at Camp Navarro this past weekend and it was one of the most nourishing festivals and getaways that I have ever been to. Camp Navarro was absolutely breathtaking and full of unique charm. Nestled among the redwoods - Camp Navarro is ideal for campers. It has showers, bathrooms, and is also right by a river - which allows for afternoon or night dips.
You could feel the positive energy swirl around the camp - blessing everyone at the festival. Even the security staff boasted big smiles and positive energy. You can tell that Camp Navarro is run by kind people - by the beautiful vibes that moved throughout the space.
If you ever get an opportunity to attend any sort of retreat or event here - go. You will find yourself breathing insync with nature and the bliss of Mendocino air.
Trust.
